Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to lead our vehicle design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development of structural vehicle systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and creating design verification plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop structural vehicle systems including frame, swing arm, handlebar, side/main stands, footrests, and grab handles.
  • Collaborate with simulation, testing, manufacturing, and program management teams to ensure optimal part performance.
  • Create and manage design verification plans in collaboration with simulation and testing teams.
  • Interpret simulation and test results to iterate and improve design quality and structural performance.
  • Develop DFMEAs aligned with design verification plans to proactively identify and mitigate potential failure modes.
  • Manage and update the engineering bill of materials, design standards, and documentation of lessons learned.
  • Identify and communicate design risks with proactive mitigation planning.
Core Competencies:
  • CAD Proficiency: SolidWorks, CATIA, NX
  • Design Approaches: DFMEA, DFA, DFM, DFS, DFR
  • Engineering Knowledge: Structural interaction with integrated systems, materials application
  • Tolerance & Fit: GD&T, stack-up and clearance analysis
  • Product Development: Simulation/testing collaboration, knowledge documentation, BOM management
  • Tools/Methodologies: DFSS (preferred), design standard documentation
Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience in a related field
  • Proven track record of leading design teams
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Proficiency in CAD software and design methodologies
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and best practices
