Senior Hadoop Engineer Position

We are seeking a skilled Senior Hadoop Engineer to fill a key role in our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Hadoop and its associated tools, including Hive, Spark, and HDFS.

Responsibilities:
  • Hadoop Expertise: Leverage in-depth knowledge of Hadoop and related tools to conduct comprehensive root cause analyses and identify system bottlenecks.
  • System Optimization: Collaborate with the DAP platform engineering team to recommend necessary system changes based on examination of system activity and user logs.
  • Performance Enhancement: Guide team members in crafting efficient queries by applying expertise in performance tuning and optimization strategies for big data technologies.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, identify root causes, determine which tech data platform team can rectify it, and coordinate amongst those teams.
  • Reliability Engineering: Develop reports to define performance and resolution metrics for proactively identifying issues and generating alerts.
  • Communication and Knowledge Sharing: Participate in cross-regional calls, ensure timely client delivery, and share knowledge with peers across geographic regions using wikis and communication tools.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; minimum 2 years of relevant work experience; practical experience as a Hadoop system engineer.
  • Data Pipelines: Strong understanding of data pipelines built using PySpark, Hive, and Airflow.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work quickly and smartly while understanding complex concepts and functionalities.
