The Commercial Data team in Advertising develops leading property and market data insights to power Real Commercial products. This squad sits in the Real Commercial tribe, the #1 place for commercial property and data in Australia.

We're seeking an experienced Senior Lead Engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys being hands-on tackling technical challenges and leading teams to deliver innovative solutions. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the globe, leading the design, development, and optimization of features to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences.

  • Lead initiatives with strategic focus and value
  • Solve complex technical problems and provide technical mentoring and guidance to less experienced members of the team
  • Support the Engineering Manager/Tech Lead in setting the technical direction and drive continuous improvement of our production systems

We are looking for someone with:

  • Well-versed in SQL, Python, ETL / ELT pipelines
  • Experience with Data modelling, Data pipelines, Data consumption, Data analysis and documentation
  • Advanced skills in designing solutions that scale and perform for millions of users and developing long-term system architecture strategies
  • Experience with modern software development techniques (e.g. functional programming, microservice architecture, test-driven development and CI/CD)

Bonus Points for:

  • Experience with Big Query / PostgreSQL / MSSQL, Python libraries (Pandas, Requests, JSON), Docker, Kafka, Linux shell scripting, Git / GitHub, AWS (S3, Lambda, IaC), Airflow, Interacting with REST APIs
