Coding Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • The ideal candidate will maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding changes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • This role involves working with healthcare providers, medical professionals, or software teams to clarify documentation and coding requirements.
  • A Coding Specialist performs coding audits to ensure compliance and accuracy, and resolves any discrepancies or errors.
  • The selected candidate will generate and review reports to track coding productivity, accuracy, and outstanding claims.
  • This position collaborates with billing and insurance teams to address coding-related issues and claims denials.
  • The successful candidate assists in the preparation of coding documentation and training materials.
  • Staying informed on industry trends and updates in coding systems, software tools, and regulations is essential for this role.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of medical coding systems and regulations (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve coding discrepancies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex information to others.
  • Familiarity with software tools used in medical coding and documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
