Database Architect

We are seeking a seasoned expert to design, install, and manage high-performance databases. This role is critical to the success of our data storage and intelligence platforms.

The ideal candidate will have experience creating, configuring, and maintaining production services across multiple global data centers and public cloud providers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage both SQL-based and NoSQL databases.
  • Managing mission-critical high-transaction-rate databases, including configuration, administration, monitoring, security management, performance optimization, replication, troubleshooting, and backup.
  • Installing, configuring, and upgrading nodes in high-availability customer production clusters.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 7+ years of experience in designing, maintaining, and administering NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB).
  • 6+ years of experience in designing, maintaining, and administering traditional SQL-based databases (MySQL, MariaDB, Percona).
  • Experience managing Kafka message bus infrastructures strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Experience with industry-standard operational practices such as change management, incident management, and working in both public clouds and traditional colocation datacenters.
  • Experience using Puppet, Ansible, Chef, or analogous configuration management systems.
  • A BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience required.
