Job Overview:

Nurturing Green is a fast-growing home gardening brand committed to innovation, speed, and scale. We're seeking an analytical Purchase Manager who can lead purchase planning, oversee ongoing vendor coordination, and drive efficiency in procurement operations.

This role focuses on execution, planning, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills with comfort in handling large datasets and Excel-based planning models. They should be able to work with cross-functional teams and align multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demand Planning & Projections

The Purchase Lead will collaborate with key stakeholders to build and validate monthly/quarterly demand projections using historical data and sales trends. They will translate demand forecasts into actionable purchase plans for both perishable and non-perishable SKUs. Ensuring projections are shared timely with vendors—3 months for non-perishable, 6 months for perishables—is also crucial.

  • Purchase & Vendor Management

The role involves coordinating with ongoing vendors to ensure timely PO issuance & delivery as per agreed timelines. Monitoring basic SLA adherence like lead time, fulfillment rate, and product quality; flagging deviations and coordinating resolution is essential.

  • Inventory & Cost Management

Maintaining optimal inventory levels Pan-India and preventing both stockouts and overstocking are critical tasks. The Purchase Lead must track stock cover by SKU and manage liquidation of slow-moving or ageing inventory. Additionally, they will monitor purchase budgets, control cost deviations, and support wastage reduction.

  • Reporting, Documentation & Cross-functional Sync

Building and maintaining Excel-based dashboards and trackers for POs, stock cover, vendor performance, and budget utilization is necessary. The Purchase Lead must also ensure clean, audit-ready documentation of all purchase operations and collaborate closely with NPD, Warehouse, Sales, and Finance for seamless execution.

Beyond core planning work, the candidate will take ownership of strategic projects that drive efficiency & improvement across the supply chain. These may include logistics optimization, cost optimization, QC process design & rollout, and warehouse or production process improvement.

We are looking for candidates with 5–10 years of experience in purchase planning / inventory management / procurement in a consumer brand, retail, or FMCG company. Strong analytical skills and comfort in handling large datasets and Excel-based planning models are essential. Flexibility, curiosity, and ownership mindset are also key qualities.
