About this role:

We are seeking a skilled specialist to work on projects involving the fine-tuning of large language models. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and excellent English comprehension skills.

  • The successful candidate should possess a solid foundation in mathematics, enabling them to break down complex concepts into simple explanations.
  • They will be responsible for designing and solving challenging math problems to probe the limitations of large language models.
  • The selected individual will collaborate with researchers to align problem types with evaluation goals, focusing on areas where models commonly struggle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing high-quality solutions with clear and rigorous reasoning
  • Contributing to defining new evaluation benchmarks based on Mathematics curricula spanning early undergraduate to PhD-level topics

Requirements:

  • A strong background in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
  • Analytical Skills: Good research and analytical skills
  • Feedback Skills: Ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations
  • Creative Thinking: Creative and lateral thinking abilities
  • Communication: Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in a remote setting
  • Independence: Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting
  • Technical Setup: Desktop/Laptop set up with a good internet connection
