This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively, thereby safeguarding the organization's financial integrity.
Main Responsibilities:- To conduct control testing as an integral part of the Control Monitoring Program, identifying areas of improvement and implementing necessary adjustments.
- Adequate application of company policies, procedures, accounting standards, and seeking advice when necessary to ensure alignment with best practices.
- Evaluating risk and testing internal controls through an understanding of key business processes, recognizing opportunities for enhancements and improvements.
- Determining alternative solutions to problems, evaluating courses of action, and making sound business decisions that drive organizational success.
- Preparing accurate workpapers that describe review objectives, test procedures, and results, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Developing and understanding the SOXHub Tool (AuditBoard) for work responsibilities, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
- Fostering teamwork and collaboration to achieve organizational objectives, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Supporting and monitoring controls remediation efforts, driving continuous improvement and mitigating potential risks.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management or related field preferred.
- Understanding of US GAAP, GAAS, Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO framework, and leading business practices.
- At least 1 year relevant experience in Risk & Compliance or Internal Control role, finance experience preferred.
- High level of customer focus and ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
