Job Title: ADA / PDF Accessibility Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned accessibility professional to ensure our digital platforms meet ADA, WCAG, and Section 508 compliance requirements.

About the Role:
  • The ideal candidate will conduct automated and manual audits for websites, portals, documents, and multimedia content to identify accessibility issues.
  • They will perform real-user testing using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and mobile responsiveness to ensure seamless user experience.
  • A comprehensive remediation plan will be developed and implemented to address identified accessibility gaps in PDFs, Office documents, videos, and multimedia content.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with developers to implement accessible coding practices, including ARIA, semantic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • They will prepare VPATs/ACRs and provide clear documentation on accessibility conformance for clients.
  • This role requires strong knowledge of ADA, Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2 laws and regulations, as well as hands-on experience with various accessibility tools and software.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct automated and manual audits to identify accessibility issues.
  • Perform real-user testing to ensure seamless user experience.
  • Develop and implement remediation plans to address identified accessibility gaps.
  • Collaborate with developers to implement accessible coding practices.
  • Prepare VPATs/ACRs and provide clear documentation on accessibility conformance.
  • Advise clients on ADA, Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2 laws and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA Title II/III, Section 504/508 laws and regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Axe, WAVE, SiteImprove, Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, ARIA, CSS3, JavaScript (React/Angular a plus).
  • Strong documentation/reporting skills (audit findings, VPAT/ACR).
  • Experience supporting federal, state, or higher education contracts preferred.
Preferred Certifications:
  • IAAP CPWA (Certified Professional in Web Accessibility).
  • IAAP WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist).
  • IAAP ADS (Accessible Document Specialist).
  • DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester.
  • IAAP CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies).
