Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Tester to join our team.

As a Mainframe Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our software applications by designing and executing comprehensive test plans.

You will be responsible for analyzing requirements, identifying test scenarios, and creating test cases to verify the functionality of our mainframe systems.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Test Strategy Development: Design and document a thorough test strategy to ensure the scope and approach of testing align with business objectives.
  • Requirement Analysis: Analyze requirements and identify potential risks and gaps in testing.
  • Test Case Execution: Develop and execute test cases to verify the functionality of mainframe systems.
  • Issue Reporting: Report defects and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.

Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of experience in testing lifecycle processes, including creation of test cases, test data, and execution.
  • Excellent knowledge of JCL editing and creation.
  • Strong understanding of TSO/ISPF commands and mainframe system architecture.
  • Ability to analyze logs and provide root cause analysis for abended jobs.
  • Experience in database management and output verification using DB2 or other tools.
  • Knowledge of STLC lifecycle (Software Testing Life Cycle) or Agile methodology.
