The role of Senior Software Engineer is critical in driving the development and implementation of cloud-native platforms that can scale with our business demands. As a key member of the Global Architecture team, you will work closely with Managed Airflow Platform and Data Integration teams to design, develop, and deliver scalable and highly resilient architectures.

This position requires an individual who excels in team environments, possesses excellent communication skills, and is self-motivated with a high sense of urgency and integrity. You will be responsible for evangelizing and cultivating adoption of open-source software and agile principles within the organization, ensuring solutions are designed and developed using a scalable architecture, delivering well-documented and tested code, and participating in peer code reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Design and develop tools and frameworks to improve security, reliability, maintainability, availability, and performance for the technology foundation of our platform.">
  • Collaborate with and consult other Nike development teams, architecture teams, etc., explain designs and constraints to stakeholders and technical teams, gather alignment and buy-in.">
  • Provide responsive support and operations for the platforms you help build.">
  • Work with product management to support product and service scoping activities.">
  • Be a key contributor to overall architecture, framework, and design of global platforms.">

Requirements:

">

You must have a strong background in software engineering with 4+ years of experience in large-scale production-grade software development and platform engineering. Proficiency in languages like Python, Java, or Scala, and Node.js is required. Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, as well as DevOps stack, ELK stack observability, monitoring tools, and database technologies is highly desirable.

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is essential. Exposure to Agile and test-driven development is a plus. If you possess a strong understanding of technical concepts, excellent attention to detail, data accuracy, and analysis skills, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.
