Senior Accountant

Accounting and Tax Compliance Specialist

This role is part of our international accounting and compliance organization, located in Bangalore, India. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to support our India entities with U.S. GAAP accounting, local GAAP accounting and tax compliance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for owning and driving the month and quarter-end USGAAP close processes for a legal entity. They will also lead local statutory audits, including preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with Ind-AS. Additionally, they will assess risks over accounts and areas of responsibility, apply judgment to ensure financial integrity, and prepare journal entries and maintain account reconciliations consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies.

• Assess and manage risks related to financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.\
• Develop and implement effective processes for financial close, audit, and regulatory compliance.\
• Maintain knowledge of evolving accounting standards, regulations, and laws, applying this expertise to drive business decisions.\
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion of internal, ICFR, interim, and statutory audits.\
• Support tax teams in managing India tax matters and regional initiatives, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.\
• Prepare tax calculations, estimates, and reports, as well as advance tax computations, ensuring timely and accurate filing of all corporate tax and GST returns.\
• Stay current on emerging trends and technologies in accounting and taxation, implementing best practices and innovations to drive efficiency and effectiveness.\
• Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exercising professional skepticism and an inquisitive approach to review and analyze general ledger, books of accounts, and statutory financial statements.\
• Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, consultants, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.\
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.\
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a high level of integrity and ethics.\
• Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging experience with accounting software and systems, preferably Oracle R12.\
• Provide training and guidance to junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing, mentorship, and skill development.\
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Ind-AS, and tax laws and regulations, ensuring accurate application and implementation.\
• Contribute to the development of business strategies, providing expert advice on accounting and taxation matters.\
• Participate in special projects and initiatives, driving business growth, improving processes, and enhancing customer satisfaction.\
• Work closely with senior management and global teams to achieve business objectives, leveraging international perspectives and expertise.\
