Empowering Women through Sustainable Development

The gender specialist will address gender equality and mitigate violence against women and girls by promoting self-help groups, facilitating income-generating business models, providing training and counseling, and ensuring proper documentation and reporting.

In this role, ideal candidates will have a background in gender studies, social work, or community development. They will be responsible for studying the local context to understand gender equality and developing a realistic plan to address it. They will also mitigate Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) in targeted villages by actively involving themselves in the formation and scale-up of registered self-help groups among women, promoting thrift and savings within the village.

The specialist will provide training on financial literacy and business development to all self-help groups and facilitate business models that promote income generation for women, benefiting them and their families. They will also ensure access to government resources, schemes, and bank loans, such as Mudra, to strengthen self-help groups. Additionally, they will collect aggregate data from all self-help groups and collate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to measure impact and document women empowerment success stories.

This position requires someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can provide counseling on general, relationship, career guidance, and sexual health to adolescent girls in villages while addressing the issues of girl child. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team committed to making a positive impact on the lives of women and girls.
