Medical Editor Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Editor to collaborate with medical writers and subject matter experts to create high-quality, compliant content for publication or regulatory submission.

  • This role involves reviewing, editing and ensuring the accuracy of medical and scientific documents.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Editing medical manuscripts, journal articles, regulatory documents and educational materials for scientific accuracy, clarity, grammar and consistency.
  • Maintaining consistency of language (tense) and adherence to brand style/client guidelines.
  • Fact-checking medical terminology, data and references for accuracy and integrity.

Typesetting Checks:

  • Ensuring correctness of font and symbols.
  • Text and image clarity/visibility.
  • Maintaining aesthetics (alignment, layout, consistency) of the deliverable.

Document Formatting:

  • Formatting documents based on journal/congress guidelines.
  • Ensuring that content adheres to relevant style guides and client or journal requirements.

Quality Assurance:

  • Delivering a high-quality edit that exceeds client expectations.
  • Performing general basic functionality and link checks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Life Sciences/Pharmacy or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in medical and/or scientific editing within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
