Cloud Administrator and Support Engineer Job Description

Our company is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Administrator and Support Engineer to join our IT department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and supporting our Google Cloud Platform environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with GCP infrastructure services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, Networking, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, GKE, Pub/Sub. Strong knowledge of Linux/Windows system administration and scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell, etc.) for automation is also required.

In addition to technical skills, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.

  • Administer and support GCP infrastructure services.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability using GCP monitoring tools.
  • Manage user access and security policies via IAM and service accounts.
  • Perform incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for GCP services.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage networking within GCP.
  • Automate operational tasks using Terraform / Deployment Manager / scripts.
  • Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions on GCP.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams for application deployment and integration.
  • Ensure compliance with security and governance policies.
  • Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and SOPs for GCP operations.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud computing and system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of GCP infrastructure services.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Experience with Terraform / Ansible / Deployment Manager is a plus.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes (GKE) and container management is a plus.
