Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Database Engineer to join our team. As a database engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building our product database with enterprise standards.

You will be responsible for handling all database requirements throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring that our database systems meet the highest standards of performance, availability, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing efficient data models and data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
  • Developing dimensional models, star schemas, and OLAP cubes to enable complex analytics and reporting.
  • Building and maintaining fact and dimension tables, ensuring proper relationships and key structures.
  • Developing ETL processes to extract data from source systems, transform and cleanse data, and load into data warehouse.
  • Implementing SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to support data warehouse and data marts.
  • Monitoring ETL performance and fine-tuning SQL code for optimal efficiency.
  • Performing root cause analysis on data discrepancies and working to resolve issues.
  • Collaborating with business analysts and end users to understand reporting needs and improve BI systems.
  • Providing technical assistance to resolve all database issues related to performance, capacity, and access.
  • Ensuring data integrity and quality in database systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, Master's preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Database Modeling and ETL Tools.
  • Expertise in SQL, including complex queries, joins, subqueries, and stored procedures.
  • Experience in MySQL and AWS Redshift.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience using MySQL RDBMS and Data Warehouses.
  • Experience in ETL tools like DMS, Talend, SSIS, scripting in a Unix-like environment.
  • Experience in building data validation reports and data profiling.
  • Broad awareness of database workloads and use cases, including performance, availability, and scalability.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in database performance tuning, optimization, and familiarity with Amazon Web Services (EC2, EBS, S3, etc.).
  • Exposure to Cloud database design and principles, AWS preferred.
  • Experience in Data Governance and ability to create domain-driven schemas.
  • Experience in SQL, R/Python programming, and optimization.
