Job Title: Industrial Automation Specialist

A leading Indian multinational IT services and consulting firm is seeking an experienced Industrial Automation Specialist to join its team.

**Job Description:**
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, and deploying Ignition SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations. They will also architect and implement real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions.

**Key Responsibilities:**
• Design and configure Ignition SCADA and MES applications
• Implement real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions
• Ensure seamless integration of OT systems (PLC, SCADA, MES) with enterprise IT systems, ERP databases, and cloud platforms
• Develop and maintain secure and efficient data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols
• Manage industrial databases, SQL historian, and time-series databases for high availability and performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs
• Provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and support existing SCADA/MES deployments to ensure minimal downtime
• Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the engineering team

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
• Strong background in MES functions, production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, SPC, etc.
• Proficiency with database technologies (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent)
• Hands-on experience with OT/IT integration technologies
• REST APIs for system interconnectivity
• MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication
• OPC UA for industrial interoperability
• Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLC, SCADA, HMIs, and plant floor connectivity
• Familiarity with manufacturing standards (ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443)
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms (Azure IoT, AWS IoT, etc.)
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for SCADA/MES deployments
• Experience in working on large-scale digital transformation and Industry 4.0 projects
• Certifications (Ignition Gold Certified Specialist, OPC UA, or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications)
