Oracle Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team based in India. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance Oracle databases.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Oracle database architecture, including RAC/ASM, and experience with installation, configuration, and upgrading of Oracle servers. You will also be responsible for implementing high availability solutions using Oracle Real Application Cluster and DR solutions using Oracle Standby Database and Oracle Data Guard.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing database schema changes
  • Migrating schemas using traditional exp/imp and Oracle Datapump utilities
  • Cross-platform migration
  • Usage of Oracle RMAN and Alert logs
  • Familiarity with Oracle CPU and PSU patching procedure
  • Generating and analyzing Oracle AWR and ADDM Reports
  • Monitoring data backup process and performing data recovery if needed
  • Studying database-related issues that could affect the production infrastructure and documenting the issues
  • Developing scripts to automate functions, processes, and monitor database performance

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong core Oracle Database knowledge (12c and 19c) including RAC/ASM
  • Strong SQL, PL/SQL, and shell/Perl scripting skills
  • BASIC knowledge on Oracle Fusion Middleware (WebLogic)
  • BASIC knowledge of Cloud (OCI, AWS, or AZURE)
  • Knowledge on Enterprise Manager
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle database technologies and architecture
  • Knowledge of best practices in database management
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
