Role Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Tutor to join our Writing Studio team. As a Tutor, you will play a key role in supporting the academic success of ESL/EFL learners by providing one-to-one coaching, small group coaching, and designing data-driven micro-curricula.

Your primary responsibilities will include diagnosing language-level or genre-level bottlenecks, running individual appointments, tracking difficulties faced by multiple students, and delivering short, targeted curricula. You will also be responsible for logging anonymized patterns and sharing them with the C&W faculty to inform their teaching and pedagogy.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a Master's degree in any discipline and TESOL, CELTA or equivalent certification. You should also possess excellent English Language Teaching skills, good understanding of process-based, metacognitive writing pedagogy, and responsible integration of generative-AI. Additionally, you will need to have good interpersonal communication and cross-cultural understanding skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • One-to-One Coaching: Diagnose language-level or genre-level bottlenecks and run individual appointments.
  • Small Group Coaching: Track difficulties that multiple students may be facing, and run "clinics" for small groups.
  • Design & Delivery: Build short, data-driven micro-curricula when there is a need to address recurring difficulties.
  • Learning-Process Tracking: Log anonymised patterns and share them with the C&W faculty to inform their teaching and pedagogy.
Requirements:
  • Mandatory Qualifications: Master's degree in any discipline, TESOL, CELTA or equivalent certification.
  • Preferred Skills: Excellent English Language Teaching skills, good understanding of process-based, metacognitive writing pedagogy, and responsible integration of generative-AI, good interpersonal communication and cross-cultural understanding skills.
