Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Vernacular Outreach Coordinator to join our team at PETA India. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating content from English to Hindi for our website, videos, letters, and other documents.

The ideal candidate will have minimum two years of practical experience in translation from English to Hindi, strong coordination skills, and excellent translation skill from English to Hindi and verbal communication skills in both English and Hindi.

You will be responsible for managing and updating our Hindi website and social media platforms, coordinating with freelance translators and proofreaders working in other Indian languages, and collaborating with the Online and Campaigns teams to create and adapt Hindi creatives for social media use.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate written English content into accurate and meaningful Hindi for our website, social media, news releases, media statements, newsletters, video scripts, billboards, leaflets, letters, demonstration materials, and other outreach materials.
  • Coordinate with freelance translators and proofreaders working in other Indian languages to ensure smooth, timely, and accurate delivery of multilingual campaign content.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining our Hindi website, including uploading content in accordance with standard operating procedures and ensuring regular updates with the latest campaign news, blogs, and resources.
  • Support content development and management of our Hindi Facebook page and other regional social media platforms, including responding to followers with approved, informative, and polite replies.
  • Collaborate with the Online and Campaigns teams to create and adapt Hindi creatives for social media use.
  • Stay informed about our ongoing and upcoming campaigns to ensure consistency and accuracy across all Hindi content.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Meet all assigned deadlines with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Apply a strong understanding of animal rights and our mission to all translation and coordination work.
