Job Title: Health and Safety Manager

About Us:
Desire Energy Solutions Pvt Ltd is a leading provider of energy solutions, and we are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Manager to oversee the implementation and maintenance of our health and safety policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indian health and safety regulations and standards, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with Indian standards and regulations.
  • Monitor health and safety compliance at projectsites to ensure the safety of construction laborers, site engineers, visitors, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks, and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Provide training and education to employees and subcontractors on health and safety best practices.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Maintain records of health and safety activities, including incidents, inspections, and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate health and safety requirements into project plans and schedules.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies and participate in inspections and audits as required.

Operational Duties:

  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure the availability of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear.
  • Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks for project teams and subcontractors.
  • Review and approve health and safety plans for subcontractors and vendors.

Required Work Experience & Knowledge:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in health and safety management in construction or related industries.

  • Thorough knowledge of Indian health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing safety plans.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety practices and procedures.

Required Education:
Full Time Engineering Graduate (Civil/Mechanical) with Diploma in Construction Safety / Industrial Safety / NEBOSH IGC from approved institutes.

  • Health and safety certification or qualification as per Indian standards (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.).

Skills Required:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety.
