Data Modeling Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Modeler to join our team.

Lumiq is a leading Data and Analytics company in the Financial Services and Insurance (FSI) industry.

Our clients include 40+ enterprises with over $10B in deposits/AUM, collectively representing about 1B customers globally.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in translating complex business requirements into data models that align with client architectural guidelines and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop logical data models based on conceptual models and conduct data profiling to deliver high-quality data models and data within defined standards.
  • Collaborate with Lead Data Modeler/Architect to analyze requirements and create clarification lists as needed.
  • Define data requirements based on understanding of same.
  • Create conceptual models based on business processes in collaboration with Lead Data Modeler/Architect.
  • Map KPIs to conceptual models as required.
  • Validate conceptual models with Manager/SMEs.
  • Create logical models capturing entity descriptions, tables, columns, etc. based on conceptual models.
  • Map conceptual models to logical models to ensure coverage.
  • Identify entities and their properties, define attributes and domain, and create physical models for small and simple projects.
  • Seek review inputs from Lead/Manager/Architect on logical and physical models.
  • Define data dictionaries/business glossaries based on developed models if required.
  • Define data governance models to ensure data quality.
  • Interact with SMEs and architects to validate data model alignment with technology suggested for project.
  • Participate in Data Model Health Assessments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Very good knowledge of Dimensional/Relation Data Modeling.
  • At least 7+ years of Data Modeling experience working in large databases.
  • Experience with ERWIN, DeZign, etc., modeling tools.
  • Knowledge in RDBMS Concepts, Data Analysis, and good SQL knowledge.
  • Ability to coordinate and explain with business users to get requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
