Job Title: Risk Analyst
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Risk Analyst to join our team at State Street. As a Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for managing systematic model testing for VaR, Vol, TE, stress testing, and supporting back testing. You will also be responsible for end-to-end servicing of clients, reconciling risk results against accounting reports, and investigating further where necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage systematic model testing for VaR, Vol, TE, stress testing, and support back testing
- End-to-end servicing of clients
- Reconcile risk results against accounting reports and independent data. Investigate further where necessary
- Provide timely and accurate market data for internal Market risk systems
- Analyze time series data for information content that may be of use to Risk Managers, such as market liquidity, hedge efficiency
- Support the Client relationship team in ensuring streamlined Investor communications
- The role involves understanding the various processes to generate the risk numbers retrieved by various risk feeds. This will involve evaluation and analysis of Market risk exposures by employing statistical and other approaches
- Assist in specifying new functionality to further streamline operational processes
- Provide support, resolve client issues, and demonstrate a firm understanding of the product to users (risk managers, traders, etc.)
- Assist team development & in the implementation projects for new risk clients
- Work co-operatively with other risk groups in different locations and time zones
- Responsible for accurate and timely processing, operations, and controls
- Responsible for migrating / training team members from other State Street locations
- Build engagement with service providers and drive KPIs
Requirements:
- 6 + years of Financial services experience in Market Risk or Hedge Fund accounting/investment operations of an Investment Bank
- Good understanding of all financial instruments including complex OTC products
- Understands Hedge Fund Strategies and hedge fund investing or hedge fund accounting methodologies
- Ability to lead the team and train team members
- Ability to work in a team under tight deadlines
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of financial markets and risk management techniques
- Highly motivated, multi-task capable, and willingness to learn and develop within role
- Working knowledge of SQL query and Advanced Excel
- Bloomberg and/or Reuters knowledge
- FRM, CA, or CFA qualification is an advantage, however not mandatory
