About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team at Bechtel Corporation. This is a challenging role that will require you to analyze and design large-scale software systems, lead cross-functional teams, and drive technical innovation.

Job Summary

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex software applications, collaborating with stakeholders to define technical requirements, and providing guidance on software development best practices. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with developers, product managers, and other technical experts to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, efficient, and secure software systems using a range of programming languages and technologies
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver technical projects and initiatives, including defining project scope, timelines, and budgets
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and define technical requirements for software development projects
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, including code reviews, mentorship, and skill development
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues, including debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including writing documentation, creating presentations, and participating in meetings
  • Maintain high levels of productivity, quality, and accuracy in your work, meeting deadlines and delivering results in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 8 years of experience in software development, with a strong background in object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and database management systems
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycles, including planning, implementation, testing, and deployment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new situations, and navigate ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications

A master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a professional certification in software development, such as CSM or CSPO, is desirable. Additionally, experience with cloud computing platforms, containerization, and DevOps tools would be beneficial.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $120,000-$180,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
