Advanced Math Researcher - AI Training Initiative

We are seeking highly skilled researchers to join our team in fine-tuning and evaluating large language models (LLMs). The goal is to improve LLMs' ability to understand and solve complex math problems, such as multi-step algebra or logic questions.

  • Determine the number of real symmetric matrices of rank 2 whose entries are only 0 or 1.
  • Find the number of subsets of a 10-element set where the characteristic vector has Hamming weight exactly 3.
  • Calculate the number of distinct 10-digit numbers with a sum of digits divisible by 3 and each digit being either 0 or 1.

These tasks aim to identify model weaknesses and enhance training and evaluation workflows.

Requirements:
  • Academic Background: Enrolled in or completed a PhD/Postdoc in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Mathematical Skills: Strong ability to solve advanced math problems with clear and structured reasoning.
  • Communication Skills: Effective explanation of complex topics and provision of precise feedback.
  • Research Independence: Ability to work independently in a remote research environment and participate actively in discussions.
  • Technical Setup: Access to a reliable computer and internet setup for remote assignments.
