Role Summary

A seasoned mechanical equipment specialist plays a vital role in the efficient operation of industrial or manufacturing settings.

They are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing complex mechanical equipment, leading junior team members and ensuring smooth machinery operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Installation: Assemble, install, and dismantle mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, turbines, and conveyors, adhering to engineering specifications.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and reactive breakdown maintenance on plant machinery to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and provide solutions for mechanical faults and issues in various systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Leadership and Technical Skills
  • Leadership: Guide and mentor junior team members, promoting best practices for safety and quality.
  • Technical Skills: Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals to understand complex systems and components.
Collaboration and Documentation
  • Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers, maintenance supervisors, and other departments to coordinate work and ensure smooth operations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, spare parts used, and any modifications made to the equipment.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Strong mechanical understanding and hands-on experience with industrial machinery.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities to quickly resolve mechanical issues.
  • Experience: Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, often 5 years, with experience in heavy machinery or manufacturing.
