Technical Director Role

This role demands a highly experienced individual with a deep technical background, proven leadership abilities, and exceptional communication skills to effectively manage technical teams, engage with clients, and build strong stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership & Architecture:
  
  • Design and implement software systems and microservices leveraging modern technologies and architectural patterns.
    
  • Define technical standards, best practices, and architecture, ensuring adherence across development teams.
    
  • Conduct code reviews, identify technical debt, and drive initiatives for continuous improvement in code quality and system performance.
    
  • Provide expert-level technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, fostering their growth and development.
• Project & Delivery Ownership:
  
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and development plans.
    
  • Oversee the end-to-end technical delivery of projects, ensuring they meet quality, performance, and security standards within agreed timelines.
    
  • Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring smooth project execution and minimal disruptions.
• Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
  
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact for clients and external stakeholders. Clearly articulate complex technical concepts, solutions, and challenges in a concise and understandable manner.
    
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring alignment on technical direction and project progress.
    
  • Participate in pre-sales activities, technical presentations, and solutioning discussions with potential and existing clients.
• Cloud Infrastructure & Services:
  
  • Design, implement, and optimize solutions leveraging cloud technologies, including AWS and GCP.
    
  • Demonstrate working knowledge and experience with cloud media services and real-time video processing and streaming platforms.
• AI Tool Integration:
  
  • Integrate AI tools and platforms via APIs, with a focus on Google Gemini and OpenAI.
    
  • Lead the technical integration of advanced AI capabilities into products and services.
• Team Development & Culture:
  
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and accountability within the engineering team.
    
  • Conduct technical interviews and participate in hiring processes to build a strong engineering team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in software development, with a significant portion in a technical leadership or architect role.
• Hands-on coding experience with proficiency in modern programming languages, such as PHP and Python.
• Expertise in designing applications using MVC and other relevant architectural patterns.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Cassandra.
• Proficient in cloud technologies, specifically AWS and GCP, with hands-on experience with compute, storage, networking, and serverless services.
• Working experience with cloud video processing and streaming services, such as AWS Elemental MediaLive.
• Experience with API integration of AI tools, including Google Gemini and OpenAI.
• Exceptional client communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of successful engagement with non-technical and technical audiences.
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps skills.
• Certifications in AWS or GCP.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong public technical presence.
