Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled expert to provide remote technical services for the setup, integration, and validation of Synology SA3410 NAS units.

This role involves ensuring hardware readiness, installing and configuring the DiskStation Manager (DSM), integrating with Active Directory, creating classroom-specific shared folders, applying access controls, and verifying system performance.

  • Validate and confirm hardware components including drives, RAM, NICs, and rail kits. Ensure firmware and DSM are up-to-date.
  • Install DSM operating system and configure SSD cache and RAID using enterprise SAS HDDs. Create and manage storage volumes based on project requirements.
  • Integrate NAS with the client's Active Directory for centralized authentication and management.
  • Create classroom-specific shared folders with appropriate role-based access controls for teachers and students.
  • Conduct access testing to validate permissions for different roles. Perform basic system performance testing and optimization.
  • Deliver a best practices guide covering system usage, data protection, and maintenance.
  • Conduct live walkthrough and Q&A sessions with the IT team for knowledge transfer.
  • Provide up to 8 hours of remote expert support during setup, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience with Synology NAS solutions (SA3410 or similar models).
  • Strong knowledge of DiskStation Manager (DSM), RAID configurations, and SSD caching.
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory integration and role-based access management.
  • Expertise in shared folder setup, permissions, and security configurations.
  • Familiarity with data protection, backup strategies, and system best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for conducting training and walkthroughs.
