The Law Department is seeking an on-site Assistant Legal Counsel reporting directly to the country lead counsel at Medical Devices India.

  • Provide legal counsel, strategic guidance and support to the Medical Devices operation of Johnson & Johnson Private Limited (JJMI).
  • Manage litigation portfolio and provide tender support.
  • Collaborate with the legal director to address various legal issues related to MedTech business.
  • Work with the country lead counsel to develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate risks, including preventive actions, trainings and communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop or review agreements relating to property, distributor, sponsorship, supply, grants, consultancy, services and outsourcing contracts.
  2. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations applicable to MedTech businesses, including industry codes.
  3. Oversee all litigation, dispute resolution and other legal matters related to business operations assigned by the country lead counsel.
  4. Provide legal input and guidance to employees of JJMI and other J&J entities on company policies and procedures, including the Code of Business Conduct and Corporate Integrity Agreements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • LL.B or LL.M from a reputable Indian law school.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • 3-5 years PQE experience handling litigation is essential.
  • Experience working in multi-national corporations, particularly in the healthcare industry, is preferred but not required.
