About the Role

  • Hands-on Data Engineer sought to build, deploy and manage robust data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Pipeline Development: Utilize Python and PySpark to create scalable cloud-based solutions on GCP and AWS.
  • ETL/ELT Processes: Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to support seamless data integration across systems.
  • Data Workflow Ownership: Own end-to-end data workflows from ingestion to transformation to storage.
  • Pipeline Reliability and Speed: Continuously monitor and improve pipeline reliability, speed and data quality.
  • Automation Tools: Leverage GenAI and automation tools to speed up development and reduce manual effort.
  • Debugging and Troubleshooting: Proactively debug, troubleshoot and resolve data engineering issues.
  • Data Availability and Trustworthiness: Ensure data is available and trustworthy for analytics and downstream systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in Python and PySpark.
  • Cloud Platforms: Working experience with cloud platforms like GCP and/or AWS.
  • Data Warehouse and Lake Concepts: Solid understanding of ETL/ELT, data warehouse and data lake concepts.
  • Databases: Proficient in working with relational databases—preferably PostgreSQL and MySQL—as well as non-relational databases, with a focus on MongoDB.
  • Delivery and Results: Driven by delivery and results — you get things done efficiently.
  • Self-Starter: Self-starter attitude with minimal need for hand-holding.
  • Automating Work: Excitement for automating work using GenAI or scripting tools.
  • Familiarity with Streaming vs Batch-processing: Familiarity with SCD, CDC, Real-time Streaming vs Batch-processing.
