About this Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend NodeJS Developer to join our dynamic team as a Senior Backend Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the platform infrastructure that powers our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate product requirements for operational feasibility and create detailed specifications and technical designs based on user stories.
  2. Continuously improve team quality in code, testing, operations, toolset, and processes.
  3. Play a key role in all parts of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and be an active evangelist for team culture.
  4. Focus on the why and root causes rather than symptoms and drive technology solutions both internally to the team and within the wider organization.
  5. Contribute to design and code reviews for quality assurance.
  6. Participate in hands-on development and bug fixing.
  7. Monitor and report technical execution progress as well as all technical issues, risks, or mitigation plans in a timely manner.
  8. Take on critical Proof of Concepts (POCs) and feasibility studies.
  9. Drive technical innovations in the product to remain ahead of the curve.

Requirements:

  • Have a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and solution architecture with a keen eye for simplicity.
  • Have attention to detail when developing solutions.
  • Be able to break down and communicate complex problems in simple terms.
  • Have commercial experience as a software engineer/developer in medium to large teams for over 6+ years.
  • Have experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and modern JavaScript.
  • Have designed and implemented REST APIs and understand GraphQL very well.
  • Have experience with serverless technologies, microservice architectures.
  • Have experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Have extensive experience with various levels of testing (unit, integration, end-to-end).
  • Be comfortable operating in an environment of high-speed deployments and delivery without any detriment to quality.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience designing, developing, and running production-grade systems at medium scale and above (50k+ users).
  • Knowledge and experience of working with temporal, Golang, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with AWS and a good understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, Route 53, DynamoDB, CloudFront, Lambda, SNS, SQS, API Gateway, ELB, EBS).
  • Experience in the finance/payment domain.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
