Job Summary:

CommScope is on a quest to deliver connectivity that empowers how we live, work, and learn. We are seeking a skilled Process Improvement Manager to join our team in Goa. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a unified approach to the process of continuous improvement in the department. Your primary objective will be to deliver high-quality products through lean processes and efficient value-added to high standards maintained by CommScope.

You will work closely with internal customers, operations, planning, purchasing, supply base, quality, etc., to support ongoing opportunities to improve the process. Your role will involve providing new methodologies and approaches to remove natural waste and inefficiency that exist in the value stream of the organization and being responsible for continuous improvement of processes within the site/department.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains lean transformation plans for the department, including value stream maps to identify key opportunities to eliminate waste and improve performance based on strategy deployment and business results.
  • Collaborates with leaders to put into action Gemba walk processes (running for daily improvement), using and constantly improving visual management on the shop floor and in the office areas.
  • Drives all levels of leaders to implement continuous improvement and eliminate flow inhibitors (anything that disrupts customer satisfaction).
  • Coaches and mentors teams toward a continuous improvement culture that fosters daily improvement involving all team members.
  • Coordinates Lean manufacturing activities within the location/department, including kaizen events, projects, and any other activities to improve and further lean efforts, ensuring the execution of the transformation plan.
  • Supports operations and office groups to establish and maintain standard work and continuous flow in all areas, including 5S and visual management.
  • Drives flow, pull, and material management through operations, including supermarket cell design with product, material, and information flow considerations in all applicable areas based on appropriate takt time.
  • Drives lean thinking into the office to create enterprise-level value stream management, including customer interfacing and new product development areas.
  • Assures open communications and involvement of employees who work in the Lean process.
  • Assists Lean assessment preparation and helps to develop an improvement plan based on assessment results. Uses Lean techniques to perform process reviews and aid in establishing standardized work procedures.
  • Provides Lean status reports for both internal and external communications, including metric-based accomplishments of the transformation plan.
  • Estimates and reports on true savings of Lean efforts in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and cash (inventory).
  • Reports on scheduled CPI activities.
  • Oversees and manages the budget associated with projects within the department, ensuring proper return on investment on projects while delivering solutions within budget.
  • Supports the creation of annual strategy deployment plans with the CPI manager and operations.
  • Provides Lean training and coaching for site employees based on needs and requirements.
