Unix Support Position

We are seeking an experienced Unix professional to fill a critical support role in our organization.

The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of AIX, Power Systems, HMC, VIOS, and other related technologies. They will be responsible for providing level 2 or level 3 support for Unix systems in a mission-critical banking environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, SWIFT, and local banking regulator requirements.
  • Operate under ITIL processes (Incident/Change/Problem/Knowledge).
  • Maintain high availability, performance, and security; participate in DR/BCP drills.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents and manage approved platform changes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement permanent fixes.
  • Tune configurations and schedule jobs to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Coordinate with vendors (TAC cases, firmware/patch planning) and validate post-change health.
  • Demonstrate strong documentation, runbook hygiene, and clear communication with operations, security, audit, and business stakeholders.
  • Ownership mindset with readiness for 24x7 support and on-call rotation.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in Unix administration, preferably in a L2 or L3 role.
  • Strong knowledge of system administration tools and methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a banking or financial institution environment.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
