Job Summary:
As a Cloud Engineer – Infrastructure Specialist at Illumina, you will play a pivotal role in building, maintaining, and scaling our cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing automation processes that support development, testing, and production environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design scalable, secure, and reliable AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure provisioning.
- Collaborate with software development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize infrastructure for high availability and reliability.
- Develop scripts for automating repetitive tasks and managing infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices in cloud environments.
- Perform regular system audits and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security risks.
- Support and mentor junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in DevOps or cloud engineering roles with a focus on AWS.
- Strong experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFront, CloudWatch, IAM, and more.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture best practices.
Compensation:
We offer a competitive salary range of $140,000-$180,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, opportunities for professional growth, and a collaborative work environment.
