Enterprise Data Architect Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to join our Corporate IT Enterprise Architecture team at Anthology Inc. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing a clear technical vision for enterprise applications built and/or customized for use by Anthology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand architectural business requirements and identify integrative views.
  • Assess the current state of customer data and analytics platforms across the enterprise and document a recommended roadmap for architecture, technology, and process improvements.
  • Focus on data quality by educating the business on its importance and driving the implementation of quality data management and improvement programs.
  • Document the flow and movement of data through the enterprise, including frequency, source, destination, transformation, aggregation, and calculations.
  • Communicate the data architecture to the development community, IT operations, IT management, and business owners.
  • Facilitate discussions between Technology and business people, recognizing areas of conflict and inconsistency between data requirements and pursuing a resolution of these issues.
  • Define technical standards and guidelines for how to use architected databases, technologies, and models.
  • Ensure that standards are up to date by investigating emerging technologies and new releases with Application Architects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or similar work experience.
  • 12-15 years of experience in integration architecture and database solution design and implementation.
  • Mastery of multidimensional data modeling with experience creating enterprise data flow diagrams, enterprise data models, enterprise data architecture diagrams, data catalogs, and data dictionaries.
  • Expertise in database technologies such as SQL server database, Snowflake, etc., and data modeling, both logical and physical.
  • Experience designing and implementing data ingestion techniques for real-time and batch data pipelines from disparate data sources.
  • Extensive experience working with enterprise applications like Salesforce, ServiceNow, UKG, and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
  • Extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding oral, written, and visual presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive when working across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to lead in an environment with multiple partners and contending priorities.
  • Advanced degree in Applied Mathematics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related field.
