Job Title: DataStage Developer

Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced DataStage Developer to fill a key position in our data warehousing team at Prophecy Technologies.

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL jobs using IBM DataStage to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouse environments.
  • Write complex and optimized SQL queries in Teradata for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
  • Work closely with data analysts and business users to understand requirements and implement data integration solutions.
  • Perform manual and automated data quality checks, including validation and reconciliation activities.
  • Collaborate with QA teams and perform root cause analysis for data discrepancies and ETL job failures.
  • Develop reusable DataStage job components and ensure adherence to data modeling and warehousing best practices.
  • Monitor ETL jobs and manage dependencies using job sequencers or orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.

Requirements:

  • 4–6 years of hands-on experience with IBM DataStage ETL development.
  • Strong SQL expertise with Teradata (or other data warehouse platforms).
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts: star/snowflake schema, SCD, data marts, fact/dimension tables.
  • Basic programming knowledge in Python, Shell scripting, or Unix/Linux environments.
  • Experience with manual data validation and data profiling techniques.
  • Familiarity with job orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or DataStage Job Sequencer.
