Accounting and Tax Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented accounting professional to join our team as an Accounting and Tax Specialist.

  • The ideal candidate will possess expertise in DATEV, the leading German accounting software, and have a strong understanding of German accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting tasks using DATEV software to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Prepare financial reports in accordance with German accounting standards, ensuring timely submission to the relevant authorities.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure statutory requirements are met.
  • Reconcile accounts, manage ledgers, and maintain data integrity, while staying updated with relevant changes in German tax laws and accounting regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and assist in audit preparation, demonstrating attention to detail and analytical skills.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience using DATEV accounting software, with solid knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and tax filing processes.
  • Experience in preparing documentation for tax office closings, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools.
  • English proficiency is required, and prior experience working in a German accounting environment or with German clients is preferred.
