Job Title: Principal Legal Counsel

About the Role:

This highly skilled and experienced legal professional will be a key member of the Legal Department, working closely with the team to provide expert legal solutions and compliance advice to the business. The ideal candidate should have at least [14/18] years of relevant experience in a legal and compliance role, with in-depth knowledge of corporate compliance programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement an effective whistleblower program, covering seven pillars of a robust corporate compliance framework.
  2. Manage global investigations, negotiate and implement remediations, and ensure that all issues are thoroughly addressed.
  3. Contribute to Compliance & Integrity Plan reviews, prepare and complete action plans, resolve problems, identify trends, and determine system improvements.
  4. Stay up-to-date with key compliance and regulatory regimes applicable to the industry, such as Whistleblower Regulations, Anti-Bribery - Anti-Corruption, Anti-Trust, Confidentiality, and related processes and controls.
  5. Analyze data, automate processes, and conduct risk evaluations to mitigate potential risks.
  6. Review and improve whistleblower systems, employee feedback mechanisms in collaboration with HR.
  7. Plan, organize, and deliver trainings and communications to enhance and grow the whistleblower program in line with best industry standards of cultural assurance.
  8. Interpret new regulations and laws by reviewing and analyzing proposed and adopted legislation and regulations.
  9. Derive policy administration, training, and regular communications.
  10. Effectively handle complaints and investigations, and manage the remediation process.
  11. Collaborate with various functions, including facilities, government relations, finance, HR, and sales and delivery teams, to support the company's expansion agenda.
  12. Advise on public policy, working closely with the Government Relations team.
  13. Support company positions by developing responses and defenses to complaints, investigations, and administrative proceedings.
  14. Demonstrate ability to effectively identify legal solutions to solve complex business issues and advise internal customers with precise and clear counsel.

Requirements:

  • JD qualified lawyer with minimum [14/18] years of experience in compliance counseling.
  • Additional qualifications, such as CA/CFA, are desirable.

Key Skills:

  1. Extensive report development experience, policy and procedure development in a multinational environment with diverse cultures and ethnicities.
  2. Interest in leveraging technology for efficient program implementation.
  3. Analytical skills relating to business processes, data analysis, and interpersonal relationships.
  4. Experience in public speaking and business presentation.
  5. Knowledge of IT industry regulatory standards, including Anti-Corruption, Anti-Trust, Trade Controls, etc.
