Job Title: Principal Legal Counsel
About the Role:
This highly skilled and experienced legal professional will be a key member of the Legal Department, working closely with the team to provide expert legal solutions and compliance advice to the business. The ideal candidate should have at least [14/18] years of relevant experience in a legal and compliance role, with in-depth knowledge of corporate compliance programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an effective whistleblower program, covering seven pillars of a robust corporate compliance framework.
- Manage global investigations, negotiate and implement remediations, and ensure that all issues are thoroughly addressed.
- Contribute to Compliance & Integrity Plan reviews, prepare and complete action plans, resolve problems, identify trends, and determine system improvements.
- Stay up-to-date with key compliance and regulatory regimes applicable to the industry, such as Whistleblower Regulations, Anti-Bribery - Anti-Corruption, Anti-Trust, Confidentiality, and related processes and controls.
- Analyze data, automate processes, and conduct risk evaluations to mitigate potential risks.
- Review and improve whistleblower systems, employee feedback mechanisms in collaboration with HR.
- Plan, organize, and deliver trainings and communications to enhance and grow the whistleblower program in line with best industry standards of cultural assurance.
- Interpret new regulations and laws by reviewing and analyzing proposed and adopted legislation and regulations.
- Derive policy administration, training, and regular communications.
- Effectively handle complaints and investigations, and manage the remediation process.
- Collaborate with various functions, including facilities, government relations, finance, HR, and sales and delivery teams, to support the company's expansion agenda.
- Advise on public policy, working closely with the Government Relations team.
- Support company positions by developing responses and defenses to complaints, investigations, and administrative proceedings.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively identify legal solutions to solve complex business issues and advise internal customers with precise and clear counsel.
Requirements:
- JD qualified lawyer with minimum [14/18] years of experience in compliance counseling.
- Additional qualifications, such as CA/CFA, are desirable.
Key Skills:
- Extensive report development experience, policy and procedure development in a multinational environment with diverse cultures and ethnicities.
- Interest in leveraging technology for efficient program implementation.
- Analytical skills relating to business processes, data analysis, and interpersonal relationships.
- Experience in public speaking and business presentation.
- Knowledge of IT industry regulatory standards, including Anti-Corruption, Anti-Trust, Trade Controls, etc.
