Job Title: Culinary Operations Team Member

Description:

This role is a critical stepping stone to advancing in our culinary team. As a Culinary Operations Team Member, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities at various workstations, preparing and cooking food products according to instruction from your direct supervisor.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Assign duties and responsibilities to employees, ensuring time and attendance policies are followed.
  • Train and monitor entry-level cooks and chefs for proper service, providing on-the-job training to strengthen their performance.

Workstations may include:

  • Main Galley including Butcher, Commissary, Pastry, and Bakery
  • Windjammer Galley
  • Room Service
  • Crew Galley
  • Solarium

This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills in a multicultural and dynamic environment.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience as Chef De Partie/Demi Chef De Partie is advantageous.
  • Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.
  • Possess intermediate computer software skills and basic accounting principles understanding.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

Additional Requirements:

  1. 4-6 years in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service.
  2. Strong knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
  3. Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
