Firmware development is a complex and dynamic field, with the need for innovative solutions to meet the demands of emerging technologies. As a Firmware Development Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing firmware solutions for embedded systems. This role requires strong technical skills, including proficiency in C programming and embedded code following coding standards.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with microcontroller and microprocessor-based systems, as well as familiarity with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, and wireless technologies like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills are essential, as well as strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience in system-level design is also a plus.

In this role, you will work closely with multi-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and QA engineers, to ensure cohesive and integrated product development. You will be responsible for evaluating architecture and system-level design, building and maintaining detailed documentation of firmware architecture, design, and code, and displaying a technical background with hands-on experience. Additionally, you will develop and implement test strategies for firmware components and collaborate with SQA teams to ensure the reliability and quality of firmware.

Key qualifications for this position include:

  • A B.S. degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related field;
  • 8+ years of professional work experience in embedded software development;
  • Proven experience as a Firmware Architect or similar role;
  • Strong proficiency in embedded systems programming languages such as C and C++;
  • In-depth knowledge of firmware development processes, tools, and methodologies;
  • Experience with microcontroller and microprocessor-based systems;
  • Familiarity with communication protocols and wireless technologies;
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
