Job Description:

The Assistant Director oversees the shoot process of a film or television production, under the guidance and direction of the Head of Department (HOD). This role involves managing studio and offsite operations, directing videographers on multi-camera setups, lighting, set design, and actor preparation.

This position requires strong organizational skills for managing pre-production and studio operations, as well as excellent communication and coordination skills for working with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Pre-Production Coordination:

    • Handle logistics related to pre-production
    • Organize and manage all pre-production tasks, including content sorting and preparation

  • Production Management:

    • Oversee and organize studio operations, including lighting, set design, and actor preparation under the guidance of the HOD
    • Manage multi-camera filming ensuring high-quality footage and smooth transitions
    • Guide cameramen during shoots to ensure sound, lighting, and focus are properly controlled according to the direction of the HOD
    • Handle studio maintenance and equipment responsibility, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition and ready for use
    • Ensure all aspects and requests for the shoot are under control, adhering to the direction of the HOD

  • Footage Management:

    • Ensure proper storage and handling of recorded content

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience:

Proven experience in production coordination and assistant directing is essential.

Skills:

Excellent organizational skills for managing pre-production and studio operations, as well as strong communication and coordination skills for working with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Technical Knowledge:

Understanding of lighting, set design, cameras, and post-production processes.

Responsibilities:

Manage studio operations, oversee and organize studio activities, coordinate logistics, direct videographers, ensure proper storage and handling of recorded content.

Key qualifications: strong communication and organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities, familiarity with production equipment and software.
