Job Title: Technical Buyer

About the Role:

The Technical Buyer position involves working closely with Superintendents to facilitate the prompt supply of technical spare parts or ship repair jobs and annual services. This role requires purchasing activities, arranging logistics to connect spares to vessels, and sending enquiries/requisitions to suppliers worldwide for quotations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Superintendents for the timely provision of technical spare parts or ship repair jobs and annual services.
  • Purchasing activities and logistics arrangement to link spares with vessels.
  • Send requisitions to suppliers globally for quotes on annual/bi-annual/5 yearly/10 yearly services of Navigation equipment, FFA & LSA, underwater inspections & hull cleaning, supply of technical spare parts and anodes bulk purchase, etc.
  • Liaise with vessels on any information required for requisitions.
  • Follow up with supplier quotes.
  • Prepare purchase orders and delivery orders/proforma invoices/packing lists, etc.
  • Assist in logistics arrangements (air freight/sea freight/land transport/sea transport).
  • Liaise with agents and ships for the supply of spare parts and repair services at convenient ports.
  • Process invoices – verify vendor invoices against quotations and ensure processing within the credit term period.
  • Document filing/printing of Invoices.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager/Superintendents.
  • Team handling.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Mandatory experience in spares stores services all technical purchasing.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills necessary.
