Job Overview:

The Regional Legal Head is a senior leadership position that oversees all legal matters across operations in Bangalore.

This role requires a seasoned lawyer with extensive experience in litigation management, contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation in the real estate sector.

Key responsibilities include providing comprehensive legal advice to senior leaders, leading and overseeing the company's litigation portfolio, drafting and reviewing contracts, and ensuring operational compliance with real estate laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of real estate laws, RERA, land acquisition, and construction regulations. They must also possess excellent communication and negotiation skills to present complex legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide Comprehensive Legal Advice: Offer expert guidance to senior leadership on real estate development, regulatory compliance, and commercial agreements.
  • Litigation Management: Lead and oversee the company's litigation portfolio, including real estate disputes, arbitration, and civil or criminal cases.
  • Contract Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including joint venture agreements, sale deeds, lease agreements, service contracts, and procurement contracts.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company's operations are fully compliant with real estate laws, RERA regulations, and other statutory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of in-house legal professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with business units, project heads, and other cross-functional teams to provide legal support for various real estate projects.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in law (LLB) from a reputable university. A Master's degree (LLM) or an MBA in Legal Management is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in the legal field, with 5+ years in a leadership role, preferably in the real estate industry.
  • Skills: Extensive experience in litigation management, contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation in real estate. Strong knowledge of real estate laws, RERA, land acquisition, and construction regulations.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present complex legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
