Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Data Scientist to spearhead the deployment and management of Posit products across our enterprise.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing target servers to meet system requirements for each Posit product.
  • Installing Posit Workbench, including R, Python, and Quarto.
  • Configuring Workbench through its configuration files, setting up users, session management, resource limits, etc.
  • Starting the Workbench service and ensuring it runs on startup.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be tasked with:

  • Deploying Posit Connect, including setting up server URL, authentication methods, email notifications, and storage options.
  • Configuring Connect for secure HTTP connections using SSL certificates.
  • Starting the Posit Connect service and ensuring it runs on startup.

Further responsibilities include:

  • Implementing Posit Package Manager, including setting up CRAN, Bioconductor, and custom package repositories in the Package Manager configuration.
  • Configuring access controls, including user authentication and permissions.
  • Starting the Posit Package Manager service and ensuring it runs on startup.

Ongoing maintenance duties include:

  • Regularly applying updates and patches to Posit products and their dependencies.
  • Maintaining license usage and renewing licenses as needed.
  • Establishing a support plan, either through internal teams or via Posit support.
