Designing furniture pieces made from steel, aluminum, and other metals is a critical component of the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop innovative steel furniture products such as tables, chairs, shelves, and storage units.
  • Prepare 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are practical and feasible for production.
  • Perform structural analysis of steel furniture to ensure durability and stability.
  • Conduct research on trends in furniture design and material innovation.
  • Develop prototypes for testing and modify designs based on feedback.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for sourcing materials and components.
  • Ensure designs meet safety standards, environmental regulations, and company specifications.

Typically, a Design Engineer will have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience as a Design Engineer in the steel furniture industry.

A strong portfolio of previous design work is highly beneficial.

Skills required include proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.

Additionally, knowledge of material properties particularly steel and other metals, understanding of manufacturing processes for steel furniture welding cutting bending etc., strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and team collaboration skills, ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously, are essential.
