Electrical Power Systems Specialist

This is a senior-level position responsible for leading the design, analysis, and optimization of satellite power systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing electrical power subsystems (EPS) for satellites and space missions, ensuring that systems meet stringent reliability, efficiency, and durability standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement power system designs, including solar array sizing, energy storage, power conversion, and distribution.
  • Perform detailed power budget analyses to ensure the satellite's power subsystem can meet mission demands under various scenarios.
  • Lead the selection, testing, and integration of power components such as solar cells, battery systems, power distribution units, and voltage regulators for space environments.
  • Conduct system-level modeling, simulation, and optimization of the satellite's electrical power system using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, or similar.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate power systems with other spacecraft subsystems, ensuring overall system compatibility and performance.
  • Supervise environmental and functional testing, including thermal, vacuum, and vibration tests, to validate power subsystem performance under space conditions.
  • Provide technical leadership in satellite power system fault management, redundancy planning, and failure analysis during both the design and operational phases.
  • Support spacecraft mission operations, providing expertise in anomaly resolution and optimization of the satellite's power system performance in orbit.
