Secure System Protection Specialist

We seek a seasoned expert in threat detection and security best practices to safeguard our digital assets.

  • Design and implement security solutions for IT infrastructure, applications, and data, leveraging expertise in threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and security best practices.
  • Continuously monitor networks and systems for potential security breaches, anomalies, and threats, utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, identifying areas of improvement and recommending mitigation strategies to ensure the integrity of our systems.
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans, leading responses to security incidents and collaborating with teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), virtual private networks (VPNs), and other security tools, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of emerging threats and technologies.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security into DevSecOps practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and security awareness.
  • Maintain and update security documentation, runbooks, and technical reports, communicating complex information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Educate employees on cybersecurity awareness and secure coding practices, promoting a culture of security responsibility throughout the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of network, application, and cloud security concepts, with a focus on threat detection and response.
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell), with experience in automating security tasks and integrating tools.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, Tenable, Qualys, and Wireshark, as well as knowledge of security frameworks (NIST) and regulatory compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications (CEH, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, OSCP).
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure), container security (Docker), and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
  • Knowledge of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices, with experience in secure coding and code review.
