Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Big Data Engineer to join our team. This role will involve designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end data storage and processing pipelines using big data technologies.
Estimated Salary Range
$120,000 - $180,000 per year based on qualifications and location.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years' experience in software development with big data technologies, including proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python. Experience of working with Hadoop clusters, Apache Spark, and Hive is highly desirable.
A strong understanding of RDBMS and NoSQL databases like HBase, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch is also required. Additionally, the candidate should be familiar with agile scrum methodologies and have good communication skills.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- 3+ years' experience in software development with big data technologies;
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java/Scala/Python;
- Experience of development and deployment of at least one end-to-end data storage/processing pipeline;
- Basic understanding of RDBMS;
- Intermediate level expertise in Apache Spark, HDFS, and Hive;
- Experience of working with Hadoop cluster;
- Good communication skills and logical skills;
Nice to Have
Prior experience of writing Spark jobs using Java, working with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP), and hands-on experience with NoSQL databases like HBase, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch are highly appreciated. Experience of using maven and git, as well as knowledge of BFSI domain, is also beneficial.
