Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Physical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical design, including floorplanning, placement, budgeting, and routing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of physical design, including:

  • Floorplanning: Create efficient and optimal floorplans for full-chip and block-level designs.
  • Placement: Place and route components to minimize timing and power consumption.
  • Budgeting: Develop and implement budgets for chip performance, power consumption, and area.
  • Routing: Route signals and nets to meet timing and signal integrity requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of EDA tools, such as DC, ICC2, Cadence Innovus, STAR-RC, PT-SI, Verplex, Quartz, and Calibre.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing physical design methodologies and flows.
  • Collaborating with the methodology team to solve implementation challenges and improve physical design flows.
  • Providing input on tool development and feature requests.
  • Mentoring junior engineers to develop their skills and knowledge.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience in ASIC physical design.
  • Experience with block implementation, extraction, timing, and/or full-chip designs.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Unix, TCL, and Perl programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience as a full-chip floorplanning, routing, or timing lead for a large silicon project is highly desirable.
