Senior Data Engineer

Job Overview

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with operations in multiple countries. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Data Engineer.

Responsibilities

- Ensure high-quality data for various business functions.

- Design, implement, and monitor data pipelines to ensure reliable data delivery.

- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly.

- Implement monitoring and alerting systems for data processes.

- Collaborate with globally dispersed teams to achieve common goals.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and adapt them to meet project requirements.

Requirements

- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with diverse teams.

- Proficiency in Python/Scala/Bash for data pipeline development and automation.

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for deploying and managing data pipeline.

- Proven experience building and maintaining scalable data movement pipelines.

- Good understanding of Hadoop and GCP environments for data storage and data processing.

- Familiarity with ETL tools and distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark.

- Strong knowledge of data principles, data integrity, and data best practices.
